This two story 42,000 sq. ft. open air facility was designed with a South Florida look and was to be the principle design element for the revitalization of Ocala’s Downtown redevelopment. This project was to be a downtown destination and a reason to visit downtown. The focus of our design was an open air theme that was to enhance the pedestrian friendly development and allow a relaxed shopping experience in an open air courtyard. This internal design was flanked with stairs at each end and a glass enclosed elevator at mid point. The entire facility was further accentuated with balconies on all the second story spaces, as well as the main anchor space which was designed as a two story restaurant with open air seating facing the square and IHMC. The brick, stone and stucco facades would have complimented the historic nature of Ocala’s historic downtown.
