One of the main design requirements for this facility was blending it into the scale and fabric of a residential neighborhood. We created a facility that is functional yet aesthetically pleasing, using material commonly used in the surrounding neighborhood. The living, dining and sleeping quarters were designed to provide a second home for the fire fighters as they work 24 hour shifts. The materials and equipment selected needed to meet some very stringent criteria that would enable the City of Ocala to maintain and use this facility for many years.
